Reformer Pilates is generally a fitness-focused class conducted using reformer machines, often in larger group settings where all participants follow the same exercises guided by an instructor or screen. It may be a good option for general fitness if you do not have specific pain, injury, or rehabilitation needs.
Clinical Pilates is more personalised and is usually led by a physiotherapist in a smaller group setting. At Therapia Sports & Spine, Clinical Pilates classes are limited to a maximum of five people, allowing your program to be tailored to your injury history, current movement, strength, flexibility, fitness level, and recovery goals. Your program may include a range of Pilates equipment such as the reformer, multi-chair, trapeze table, ladder barrel, spine corrector, and mat-based exercises.
Most private health funds provide rebates for physiotherapist-led Clinical Pilates when using eligible passes. Purchase your pass upfront and claim your rebate once sessions are completed.
