Mukul Singla (Principal Physiotherapist and Owner)
Mukul Singla specialises in musculoskeletal, orthopaedics and sports physiotherapy. He has been a physiotherapist for over 16 years and has a passion for active recovery. He completed his Masters in Orthopaedic, Sports and Manual therapy, with overall distinction from University of South Australia (UniSA) in 2003. He has always been motivated by the desire to learn more in order to better understand and help his clients. He undertook an Honours research project with UniSA in 2012 to investigate how well Physiotherapists understand their patients and their condition.
His clients include people from everyday life, office workers to elite athletes and Cirque Du Soleil performers, dancers and artists. He has also been involved with UniSA as a Clinical supervisor and mentor for physiotherapy graduates, an experience he thoroughly enjoys and considers as a commitment to teach the new generation of physiotherapists.
His main areas of interests include:
- Low back pain assessment and management
- Pregnancy related back pain and pelvic dysfunction
- Cervicogenic headaches and
- Spinal (Cervical, Thoracic or Lumber) dysfunctions
He also has a special interest in peripheral musculoskeletal conditions such as:
- Tennis elbow
- Achilles tendinitis & Plantar fasciitis
- Shoulder and Knee conditions
- Sports related injuries
He uses a combination of pilates and yoga principals with manual therapy (including manipulation), Mckenzie approach, muscle energy techniques, western acupuncture and dry needling. His belief is that complex problems often have simple solutions and often people have a good insight into their problems, you just need to listen and guide them in the right direction.
He firmly believes in ‘movement based rehabilitation’ and often says that ‘the better a person understands their body and their problem, the better they can manage it’.
