Online Classes

Here at Therapia we are excited to introduce, Online Strength & Flexibility Classes! These classes will be run through Zoom, an online conferencing tool, as a combination of Pilates, Yoga, Physio stretches and strengthening exercises.

We are all really looking forward to the implementation of these classes, particularly due to the success and positive feedback we have already received with our online physio consultations! The process will be completely online, meaning you can book, pay, and join the classes all from the safety and comfort of your own home!

About Online Strength & Flexibility Classes..!

In practice, you will be able to join a virtual-room class run by our Physios (either Mukul or Sam, who will lead your exercise program):

  • Each program will be specifically designed for the capabilities of the group and have individually considered modifications.
  • These classes will run for 45 minutes, and various session times throughout the week will be available.
  • To find the class schedule, please look at our online booking page.
  • These classes will be extremely beneficial for your exercise program, as the practitioners can modify exercises that are specific to you and your needs.
  • Our Physios have a deep understanding of the effect various exercises will have on specific conditions you may present with, so the classes are tailored such that all possible conditions are considered rather than generic exercises implemented for every class.
  • These classes are also designed progressively, with the careful planning of our practitioners meaning you are likely to benefit in your condition with these progressive classes.

Our practitioners have had years of experience in identifying musculoskeletal conditions, and prescribing exercise programs that help improve these conditions. We want to use these classes to allow this to continue, wherever you are!

  • Recent research shows that online Physiotherapy consults are a viable alternative to in person consults and are extremely effective for people who have musculoskeletal injuries or pain, and this extends to pilates sessions.
  • This means you can still receive the similar long-term outcomes for a wide range of conditions compared to people who attend in person.

How can I book my spot for the classes?

  • To book these sessions, you can book online through our website, under ‘Online Strength & Flexibility Class’. You will be able to pay online quickly and easily when you book into the class. At this stage private health funds are only covering 1-1 online sessions, however we expect that online classes will be covered in the near future. If you would like further clarification about this, please contact your health fund.
  • To begin there will be limited spaces in the classes, though this may expand as we all get into a better routine. Please book in early, and feel free to book ahead, to ensure that your place in a session is secure.

How will it work?

We will send the link you need to join your Zoom session via email (along with specific instructions) when you book into the class.

If you are using your laptop or computer, you do not have to install Zoom prior to your session, Zoom will immediately run in your browser when youclick the link. Despite this, if you plan on using it regularly it may be more efficient for you if it is already installed. However, if you are using your phone or tablet, you need to install Zoom prior to entering in the link.

Please make sure you join the session ten minutes before the allocated start time to ensure your camera and microphone are working, and to givethe Zoom link time to load. As long as you have a secure browser, a charged device (laptop, tablet, phone), an internet connection you will be able to join the class.

To make sure you are ready for the classes, please be sure to prepare the following:

  • Be prepared for the class at least 10 mins before the class
  • Please do check your device camera and microphone, and position yourself in a way that ‘when you stand on your mat your head and whole of the mat is visible in the camera
  • Any exercise equipment you have
  • An appropriate space in which you can complete relevant exercises
  • Appropriate camera angle including hands free, with Bluetooth headphones if you have them
  • Exercise or comfortable clothing
  • Please mute your microphone after the initial introduction – you can either unmute or raise your hand when you need to ask a question
