We completely understand that physiotherapy or pilates can initially seem intimidating. You’re in pain and youre not sure what to expect. Below are some of our most frequently asked questions, but if you would like to speak to someone in person, please call us on 08 8221 5011.
What to expect from your first session?
On your initial appointment, your physiotherapist will assess your injury. They will take a thorough personal history, review your symptoms and do various tests and measures to gain a more specific understanding of your physical issues.
Your physiotherapist will make a diagnosis and explain their treatment recommendations. They will help you set goals, answer your questions and, if necessary, give you a treatment such as joint mobilisation, massage, acupuncture, pilates instruction or a real time ultrasound training session.
What to wear?
Since we’ll be moving, stretching and exercising you, we recommend you bring comfortable, unrestrictive clothing or athletic wear to all your treatments. Your clothes should allow us to easily evaluate your area of injury. Please bring a pair of clean socks if you are attending a pilates session.
What to bring?
Please bring any X-rays and scans relating to your problem area as well as details of your previous surgeries, general health information and medication details. If your visit relates to a work or motor vehicle injury, and you will be claiming compensation, please bring all the relevant details.
Above all, bring a positive “can do” attitude. We will help you make a difference to your body and peace of mind.
